Top Canadian Visa Programs

1. Express Entry (EE)

Express Entry is a federal immigration system for skilled workers, managed by IRCC. In 2026, it operates through category-based draws targeting specific occupations such as healthcare, trades, and tech. A job offer is not mandatory, but having one (especially with LMIA) can increase your chances of selection.

2. Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)

LMIA is not a direct immigration program but an important requirement for many job offers in Canada. It is issued to employers to prove that no Canadian worker is available for the job. A positive LMIA allows employers to hire foreign workers and can support both work permits and permanent residence applications.

3. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

The PNP allows Canadian provinces to nominate foreign workers based on their labor market needs. Many streams require a valid job offer, and in some cases, an LMIA is needed. Some PNP streams are aligned with Express Entry, giving candidates additional CRS points.

4. Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)

The Atlantic Immigration Program is designed for skilled workers and international graduates who want to work and live in Atlantic Canada. It requires a job offer from a designated employer. Unlike many other programs, it does not require an LMIA.
